While every workshop is different, the concepts and methodology are the same. Each talk, presentation, and workshop is designed to do two primary things:
- Help each individual to connect to their source—their authentic self.
- Teach a process that enables the individual to joyfully stay connected to their source in every moment of every day.
Background
My process for staying connected to source has evolved over the years. My grandfather,
M.R. Zigler, a peace activist and minister in the
Church of the Brethren, was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize in 1982. He was 91 years old. He didn’t win, but it was significant that he was nominated. He said to me that year, “If only I had written my life story when I was young, I would have gotten a whole lot more done in my life.” I knew the things he had done and was stunned at this comment. However, I took what he said to heart and began the process of writing my goals.
Over the years, my process evolved as I grew and learned what worked for me and what didn’t. I read hundreds of books on spirituality, quantum mechanics, psychology, the mind-body connection, and on and on. Over time, I developed a series of exercises that worked for me. I codified the process in 1993 and began conducting workshops to teach it. Hundreds of people have taken my workshops. Years later, they still ask me for the most recent worksheets and tell me that my workshop changed their lives.
Connecting to Source
Connecting to Source involves a process of looking inward and identifying your purpose for being in this world. How do you want to be remembered? This step also involves taking a hard look at who you are in terms of the roles you play and the life commitments you have made. We also identify what make you unique. Then we look at what you want to accomplish during your lifetime and take the time to dream about what you want and why, without limitation. The main purpose of this section is for you to feel good about your life and your journey.
Staying Connected to Source
This step in the process involves a series of exercises designed to help you live your life in joy every moment of every day. I teach a very specific method for setting goals, staying focused on a daily basis, managing those times when you get blindsided, and dealing with the inevitable conflict in your life.
I believe that groups will be more effective if each individual in the group is operating from a place of authenticity before they make their respective commitments to the group. In the group setting, I apply the Living Each Day methodology first at the individual level and then at the group level.
