Definitions of "authentic-self" can be found in many disciplines. It is referred to as "optimal self-esteem," "true self," "sense of purpose," "emotional intelligence." All have a common theme: the authentic self is
who you are at your core. It is the basis for how you make decisions, how you work, how you live your life, and how you relate to others.
A study done by
Walter Mischel and A. L. DeSmet, as published in the
Handbook of Conflict Resolution: Theory and Practice (pp. 256-275), found that people who are cognizant of what is important in their lives tend to manage conflict better. They wrote: "Among the most frustrating conflicts are those that people fight within their own heads" (p. 256).
This research-based workshop helps you get to the core of who you are. It is a workshop that focuses on
process rather than assessment. Participants come away from the workshop with a new awareness of self and the tools to help them remain in touch with who they are no matter what life throws their way.
