About Judy Glick-Smith
Judy Glick-Smith is the founder and President/CEO of MentorFactor, Inc. She is a speaker, writer, and conflict resolution specialist. She is a breast cancer survivor who believes in the power of each person's Connection with Spirit to achieve anything. She loves helping people discover their life's purpose through her workshops and presentations on conflict management, leadership, and living an authentic life.
Judy has been an entrepreneur, consultant, and coach since 1983 when she founded her first systems documentation business, after discovering a need for systems documentation in most of the organizations where she worked as a programmer. She founded Integrated Documentation, Inc. in 1987 when she relocated to Dallas, Texas. IDI focused on documenting high technology systems. She founded The GlickSmith Group, Inc., in 2003 to focus on enterprise architecture consulting. MentorFactor, Inc. was founded in January 2006 after relocating to the Atlanta area.
Judy is currently enrolled in the California Institute for Integral Studies Ph.D. program in Transformative Studies. She has a Masters of Science in Conflict Management from Kennesaw State University, a BBA in Accounting with a minor in Information Systems from Georgia State University, an Associates Degree in Fashion Design from Atlanta Art Institute, and three years of Fine Arts from East Tennessee State University.
Judy is a Fellow and Past President of the Society for Technical Communication (STC), a 25,000 member international organization dedicated to advancing the arts and sciences of technical communication. She is STC's 2006 recipient of the President's Award and the chief architect of STC's Leadership Community Resource. She is also a Past President of the Lone Star Chapter of STC and the Dallas Chapter of the Association for Systems Management. Judy was an instructor in the Technical Writing Certificate Program at Richland Community College in Dallas from 1991 to 2004.
She has published articles in Enterprise Systems Journal; in both of STC’s publications, Intercom and Technical Communication; the Center for Information-Development Management’s newsletter, Best Practices; and The Rockley Group’sThe Rockley Report. She has regularly presented at numerous professional organizations and conferences since 1988.
The joy in her life comes from her family, especially her grandchildren; her English Springer Spaniel, Gracie (every cowgirl needs her dog); her love of photography; her love of horses; traveling to new places; working her land in Weatherford, Texas; and connecting with and helping as many people as she can on her life's journey.
